Abstract
Quintana Roo south area has 3 federal natural protected areas and one is managed by the state government. As a part of the tourism development strategy by the state government “the Grand Costa Maya” is priority now. We have the Land Use Programs and Urban Use Programs that has been analyzed but those are not essential key to protect the environment and natural resources, those have been used as tourism and development advertising looking only in to economic benefits for few. The community’s and stakeholders participation is unusual. This development looks like more unsustainable and is consider a treat for those MPA´s. We recognize that specific indicators and research has to be done and it has to serve directly to the conservation of natural resources
