Abstract
This presentation summarizes the socioeconomico study of the area of influence of the Project for Sistema Arrecifal Mesoamericano (SAM) where identify the socioeconomic indicators used by the local governments and other organisms for the development and measurement of the impact on the population and its resources, specially the protected marine areas, archaeological sites, coastal areas of conservation and echo-tourist sites of industrial development. Also the mechanisms or methods of participation of the groups of interest within the problematic of the marine coastal areas are defined. This allows to the identification of spaces and new opportunities for the fortification of the institutional capacities and of organizations of local base. In the end problematic recommendations occur that orient the improvement of the present ones, found within the analysis area and a socioeconomic data base is created that will serve as a key tool in the handling and dissemination as the information related to the SAM
