Abstract

A detailed diagnosis of the coastal sector Monigote- Las Coloradas is offered in the present work, as of a descriptive study -exploratory accomplished through qualitative and quantitative methods, mixing the social investigation with the basic or scientific investigation techniques. As a result is obtained five groups of environmental problems for the Cabo Cruz community, of those which are the most important: the pollution problems of the coastal sector and the social problems associated with arrival's of drugs at the coasts. However, the biggest problematic identified for management of specie Strombus gigas are related to the low environmental- legislative level, problems related with the availability of resources, and the water and soil pollution problems. For the coastal sector, are established 17 current used and 4 potential categories, of those which the most conflicting current use is the arrivals of drugs, and as potential category, the commercial use of specie Strombus gigas. The hierarchy levels of the principal impacts in relation with the resource are determined, and 6 actions lines routed to the evaluation and recovery of the specie and their habitat are proposed. In this sense, those lines are routed also to strengthen the environmental education and the integration to the social actors involved in the management of this specie in this coastal sector
