Abstract
In 2016, San Andrés island, in the Colombian Caribbean, was declared in public calamity by not having enough water re-sources to satisfy the water demand of a resident population and floating that is increasing. At the same time there is a mass tourism model that rooted the relative scarcity and to understand its impact, the present paper makes an analytical evalua-tion of the use of water in the accommodation service: it documents the perception, patterns of use and saving strategies hat tourists, hoteliers, guesthouses and government entities have on the water and finally the signs of conflict between the tour-ism sector and the residents by the resource
