Abstract
This article summarizes the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s International Activities office actions underway and proposed for expanding existing U.S. and Central American environmental partnerships. The goal of the partnership project is to improve applied research, extension, and education programs in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). The International Activities office continues to adapt and implement the U.S.-based Sea Grant model throughout LAC with willing partners for the purpose of strengthening environmental science, research and environmental law programs within universities. This case study provides an overview of the Program Design and Evaluation project occurring in Nicaragua, Central America, specifically addressing environmental programming and curriculum developments planned for the next two years
