Abstract
Participatory Fish Stock Assessment (ParFish) is an adaptive learning methodology that uses a wide range of quantitative information and knowledge from local fishers and other stakeholders to develop a rapid assessment of the stock using Bayesian decision analysis. The process can be used to promote more effective management of the resource base and develop co-management initiatives. This poster provides a brief overview of the key steps necessary to a complete ParFish assessment, and indicates what information is required and the range of tools available to complete the analysis.
