Abstract
Approaches to stock assessment of spiny lobster (Panulirus argus) population in the Yucatan Coast, Mexicowas conducted using five models : the depletion model, the dynamic biomass model, length cohort analysis, the age structure model, and the delay difference model. Data and some parameters used come from sampling of the Yucatan fishery, parameters estimation of the Cuban and Mexican Caribbean Coast, and diving surveys. Parameters of the models estimation were determined using Bayesian frameworks Stock assessments indicated signficant differences in the results obtained from each model used, but the assemblage was indicative of a sustainable yield of spiny lobstersin the following years.
