Abstract

The morphometric relationships, total length-weigth, total length-width and weigth-width for common snook Centropomus undecimalis (Bloch) in the range 7.5-21 cm were: weigth = -25.0993 + 3.067886 (total length); width = 0.2161661 + 0.146948 (total length) and width = -26.6376 + 18.69987 (weigth). Were obtained that for total length of 6.87 cm or less mosquito plastic mesh due to use, of 6.87 to 11.19 cm mesh of l/2 inch, of II.2 to 15.51 cm mesh of one inch and for fish higher to 15.51 cm mesh of two inches. The results are satisfactory, and the size mesh selection for experimental, pilot or/and comercial cages and pens could be constructed base on these relationships.
